Memphis, Tenn. – Memphis 901 FC midfielder Aaron Molloy was named to the USL Championship Team of the Week for Week 24 of the regular season on Tuesday, the league announced. The honor is Molloy’s seventh Team of the Week appearance this season.
Molloy recorded assists on both of Memphis’ goals in a 2-0 road victory over New Mexico United on Wednesday night. The Irish international recorded six chances created in two games while completing 93 of 116 passes and winning 15 of 27 duels.
The midfielder holds the league lead with 10 assists this season and is currently tied for fifth in chances created with 53, leading 901 FC to the No. 2 spot in the Eastern Conference Standings with nine matches remaining in the regular season.
“This nod is just another indication of the tremendous job Aaron is doing for this club week in and week out,” Head Coach Ben Pirmann said. “He’s shown that he’s one of the best midfielders in the league and we’re happy to have him here as we work to achieve our goals.”
901 FC will have a week off before hosting Loudoun United on Wednesday, August 31 at AutoZone Park.
