MEMPHIS, Tennessee – Memphis 901 FC has partnered with The Salvation Army Kroc Center of Memphis to become the club’s official training facility, the club announced Tuesday.
The Salvation Army Kroc Center of Memphis, home to indoor and outdoor soccer pitches, has served as an auxiliary training ground throughout 901 FC’s infancy. The club has also used the weight facility weekly for post-training lift sessions.
"We are honored to welcome 901 FC to the Kroc,” Cleo Griffin, executive director of The Salvation Army Kroc Center of Memphis, said. “Our members are loyal Memphians who are proud to support their new team, and our youth now have professional role models in soccer to whom they can aspire to achieve greatness.
“It's truly an exciting time for us."
Memphis 901 FC Sporting Director Andrew Bell said he’s excited to partner with one of Memphis’ premier community centers this season.
“It’s a superb location,” Bell said. “The facilities are very, very good.
“Coach (Tim Mulqueen) and the team will be comfortable there, so we’re excited about the opportunity.”
Located at 800 East Parkway, near the corner of Central and East Parkway, The Salvation Army Kroc Center of Memphis opened to the public in February 2013. The center is privately funded as part of the Salvation Army’s effort to promote healthy living across the nation.
